Deca Graders

The Sophomore Sleepover
by: Rocio Cardenas
The Sophomore Sleepover is one of the sophomores most memorable memories yet because it is a massive sleepover which takes place inside the school! This exciting event takes place on March 19th, 2010 so mark your calendars sophomores. The teachers and principal are usually all in attendance, while some teachers just stay for awhile, have fun, and head home at night. Other teachers stay up all night with the sophomores and have what seems to be never-ending fun.
The sophomores usually bring a blanket, a pillow, some pj's and slippers, toothpaste and a toothbrush. They also bring along all sorts of games and things to help them stay up the entire night.
The sophomores makes sure to arrive on time for dinner, which is a feast of pizza! After stuffing themselves with that oh-so delicious pizza pie, the real fun begins. The sophomores begin to play loud music and play all sorts of games. A common game is Twister. Late at night, the sophomores and some teachers play hide-and-seek. The fun part is that you can hide anywhere on the first floor and second floor. Another exciting game that is played is Tag.
Last year when I was a sophomore, I played Tag with most of the sophomores and Mrs. Thompson. It was very exciting. On the first floor, my friend and I opened some of the unused lockers. We went running from opposite sides smashing the lockers and had a blast.
We were able to use the intercom and make the silliest sounds and say what we wanted. While some sophomores played and ran around the building, other sophomores were lying down in a classroom all cuddled up watching a movie and eating junk food. We all took pictures and had a great night. Once morning came, everyone got their belongings ready to head home. It was fun to see how silly everyone looked after a night of no sleep! The night was amazing and very well worth it!
