                                        Seniors  Last Week         

        The graduating class of 2011 and are almost done with their school year. Their  last full day of class is Thursday May 12, 2010. The Friday, Monday and Tuesday they will take their finals. The seniors will then come back only for graduation and Baccalaureate practice. ^[a]The Baccalaureate Mass will be held on Friday May 20, 2011. After the Baccalaureate Mass the Seniors will return to the school for their Luncheon in the cafeteria. The juniors will serve the seniors their food and will decorate the entire cafeteria to ensure that the seniors fell special for their last meal at Tepeyac. The next day Saturday May 21,2011 is the class of 2011 graduation at Our Lady Of Tepeyac church. The graduation will begin at two

Industry Night

    Columbia college will hold its annual event throughout the campus. Starting May 10- May 13. Industry Night is a series of networking events created to display students talents, in the field of there professional interest. Taking place over three nights, the events will be organized by interrelated media and industry section.

Sadly the Lakers Were Swept and Defeated

On mother’s day, May 8, 2011 it was game time. The Dallas Mavericks and the Los Angeles Lakers played for the chance to advance to the semi-finals of the NBA playoffs. With Dallas already winning 3 games and the Lakers winning 0, the Mavericks defeated the Lakers a 4fourth time! The Lakers were swept. Dallas had a 4-0 win in the series and went to the semi-finals ready to play their next opponent.

Britney Spears Hosts Private Event To Benefit New Orleans

 

Britney Spears Hosted a private event to help benefit New Orleans. Britney Spears supports a charity called, Hollywood comes calling. On Wednesday night, the Britney Spears and her family hosted a private event in Beverly Hills that was attended by Kim Kardashian, Selena Gomez, Kellan Lutz, Hilary Duff. The event was a success, a lot of celebrities attended. This charity that they are all supporting is to rebuild homes of those affected by Hurricane Katrina, as well as helping rebuild their lives.

College Day.

Who’s ready for college? On Wednesday, May 11, 2011, Our Lady of Tepeyac will be all about college. The freshmen, sophomores, and juniors will be going to visit colleges. Freshmen will be visiting Loyola University. The sophomores will be going to University of St. Francis. The juniors will be heading to Columbia College after they sit through a brief presentation of the college application process. The seniors will be staying at school listening to guest speakers talk about college. Hopefully this will be a good experience for the whole school.

Spirit Week

This year we had an amazing turnout for day two of Spirit Day. Monday we had movie day, and yesterday we had carnival and twin day.  We had different locations set up, and multiple of games. The most interesting game was the smack a teacher with a pie, and the food contest. Then we went to the dunk tank and had a blast. Today is jersey/ sports day and we go on a picnic. Tomorrow is retro day and our talent show. Then Friday is our Walk-Thon!

        This coming Thursday is the annual talent show. The dress code is Retro. Everyone is to dress and some form of retro or in their uniform. May 5, 2011 there will be no classes everyone is to report to their advisory to take a standardize test. After that we will all go down to the gym for the annual talent show, where everyone will showcase their talents.

Walk-a-thon

               Our Lady of Tepeyac high school will have there annual walk-a-thon on Friday May 6. Students will be in ADV 8:00-8:45 or until basses arrive. The them will be t-shit and jeans/shorts.T-Shirts will be handed out during period 1/Advisory. All students and staff will be walking from the aquarium to Lincoln park zoo. Students will be dismissed once everyone returns to school.

The Osama killing games begin !

On Sunday night the whole world found out that Osama bin Laden had been killed. but for some people, that wasn't enough they wanted to experience killing Osama themselves. how can they do this well. here comes the power of the Internet.  they made up a Internet game where you can kill Osama bin laden all the times you want and however you want.

Disney Sues Dish

Walt Disney Company is suing Dish Network in Manhattan federal court, claiming that the second largest U.S satellite TV provider  is cutting into Mouse's profits by airing its movies for free on Starz channel. Dish network has to pay hundreds of millions of dollars  for the right to distribute Starz content to their customers. This also includes the rights to a number of Disney movies.

Time To Go!!!!

May 21, 2011 our seniors will be leaving and preparing themselves for a new life, in other words college. This is where they have to show their independence, and self maturity. Monday, April 18, 20011, was their Senior Ditch Day. April 16, 2011 was their prom. May 11, 2011 is their last detention day. As a junior of the school I can honestly say that all of the seniors will be missed. Not just by their little sisters (fresh-women) but also by their families at home, and by their Tepeyac family. It is their time to go but as Juniors of the school we will follow the traditions and be the best Seniors we can be. So goodbye Seniors.!

Old Lady Tea. -Ciera

Calling all freshwomen, vengeance has come. On Friday April 29, 2011, the freshwomen of Our Lady of Tepeyac High School will be hosting the Old Lady Tea in the gym. It is a tradition that we have here at Tepeyac where the freshies dress up the seniors as old ladies and make them look, well, old. Early last year, the seniors dressed their little sisters up as babies, this is the freshies chance to get revenge. There will be games, food, and fun.
